On 23rd October , marks a significant day known as “Midad” which coincides with the last Wednesday of the month of Safar each in the Hijri Calendar. The
management committee of Al-Ghanna Institute organised a trip for the students of the institute to the private swimming pool called Al-Amiri, one of the private pools in Tarim, Hadramaut. A number of cultural, educational and recreational events were held on this trip, and a public session was held with a variety of Qasaids (songs) by the students of the Institute.
What characterised this trip is the establishment of a cultural and recreational competition for students, where they were divided into five groups and varieties of quizzes in relates to educational questions of what the students of the Institute have learned in Arabic and religious questions. Through this journey, the students were able to acquire many skills such as swimming skills, pronunciation skills, classical Arabic, conversational Arabic, etc.,integration into the community, learning and relationship building with the management committee of the institute and its supervisors and teachers, as well as the traditions in Tarim and its history.
